Easter Morning we were up bright and early to make it to the 8:00 service. This never happens in our house. You rarely find Emma or I out of bed much before 8:00. And yes, I realize this will all change very soon with little man arriving any time now. We are so thankful that Emma loves going to church now and actually gets excited about going into the preschool area on Sunday mornings. It makes for a much happier Mommy and Daddy that can actually pay attention to the service rather than wondering if our child is screaming her head off for over an hour in the arms of a stranger. It was a wonderful service and I even remembered to snap a quick pic with my phone of my sweets in their Sunday best before leaving.
The Easter Bunny visited us while we were gone to church and left Emma lots of goodies. I knew that if the Easter Bunny came over night that we would never make it out the door in time for church that morning.
She ran inside to see what she got.
The first thing she spotted was her butterfly wings and wanted to put them on immediately.
She took her time looking through each little thing.
She got an ABC Dr. Seuss book, a bracelet, a swim suit, butterfly wings, purple bubbles, color wonder magic markers and travel pad, a peter rabbit movie, big girl plastic cups (Dora, Disney Princesses, Thomas, and Hello Kitty), swedish fish, a ring pop, and M&M's. Of course when she picked up her swimsuit, she said "We have to get in Daddy's car and go to the beach!" We replied, "Soon, sweetheart, very soon.." This girl has been obsessed with going to the beach since February. As soon as baby brother is here and healthy we are going to plan a trip.
After a morning snack, it was down for nap before we headed off to Grandma's for the afternoon. We ate, hung out, and hunted Easter eggs. Well Emma, Ian, and Elizabeth hunted eggs.
After hunting eggs, they blew bubbles...
Jonah napped...
Then Emma hunted a few more eggs...
Blew more bubbles...
Jonah played...
And Emma blew more bubbles...
I don't know why, but I love this picture of my sweet girl.
After Grandma's, we went home for a late afternoon nap for Emma (and me) before we went to Granna's house for Easter dinner. I don't know why, but my camera never makes it out over there. Probably because there are very few people in their family and with Emma being the only grandchild there is only just a little cuteness going on. Maybe next time we'll have a little boy to photograph!
